County Rancher. Among Wyoming
Stock Growers Association (WSGA) members, Jody is well known for having
served as its Region IV Vice President between 2005 and 2007. Jody has also been active in WSGA by
being past Vice Chairmen of the Long Range Planning Committee; the
Marketing, Transportation & Labor Committee; and the Membership
Committee. He is currently Vice
President of the Star Valley Cattlemen’s Grazing Association and serves
on the Lincoln County Predator Board.
Seeing the rapid lost of working farms and ranches in Star Valley has galvanized Jody concern
and interest in agricultural land conservation. Prior to joining WSGALT Board Jody
served on the Steering Committee of the Wyoming Stock Growers
Agricultural Land Trust Star Valley Chapter.
Alan
Barnett - Meeteetse rancher Alan Barnett
joins the board as well. Alan’s roots run vast and deep. Alan grew
up ranching with his father in the Sheridan area, worked in the family
Feed, Seed, Fertilizer and Chemical business for many years, ranched
until the mid 90’s and now works for Farm Credit Services of
America in addition to owning and managing the Gooseberry Creek Ranch
with his wife and son. In 2005 the Barnett family and WSGALT cut their
teeth on the first purchase easement project. This established a
relationship that has since encouraged other landowners along the
Gooseberry Creek drainage to do the same. Alan says he “is looking
forward to the work of preserving our ranching way of life here in Wyoming.”
Ogden Driskill - Crook County rancher, Director of Crook
County Irrigation District, past member of the board of directors of the
Wyoming Agricultural Leadership Council.

and law degrees. While going to college he worked as a law enforcement
officer and is a graduate of the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy. Later, he was a visiting
instructor at the Academy for 15 years.
Ray has served the executive
branch of Wyoming State Government in numerous capacities over many
years, including service as Special Assistant Attorney General, member of
the Governor’s Commission on Criminal Administration, and the
Wyoming State Aeronautical Commission. In 2002, Ray ran for governor of Wyoming in the Republican Primary,
finishing second in a field of five.
In 2006, he won the Republican Primary but lost the general
election to the incumbent Democrat, Dave Freudenthal.
Because of his family ranching
background, Ray has had a life-long interest in agriculture generally and
in the livestock industry specifically.
Shortly after arriving in Platte County, he and his family moved to
the country where his children were exposed to rural values, 4-H and FFA activities. In the 1970’s Ray served as
manager of the Platte County Fair and PRCA Rodeo. Today, Ray has
agricultural and livestock interests in Albany and Platte Counties. For over 25 years he has been a member
of the Wyoming Stock Growers Association and was a charter member of the
National Cattlemen’s Association.
He also is a member of the Laramie Peak Stock Growers and the
Albany County Stock Growers Associations.
Over the years Ray has served
on many boards of directors both for profit and nonprofit
corporations. He currently serves
as vice-chairman of the Board of Directors of BH, Inc., a manufacturing
firm, and member of the Board of Directors of The Laramie Foundation, a
non-profit dedicated to the recognition of the historical women of Wyoming who have made world,
national and state history over the years. Ray states he
“…agreed to become involved in WSGALT’s activities
because of its important work in protecting privately owned open
spaces. It is WSGALT that stands
between Wyoming’s traditions and
landscapes and the ugly, rural sprawl which has infected other
states.” We look forward to having Ray as a member of our board; he
brings depth and experience that will be tremendously valuable to us.
John Lunt - Carbon County rancher, chairman of the
Carbon County Chapter of the WSGALT, past family medical practice -

riding, nature viewing, and bird hunting.
Wyoming’s first conservation easement was placed on the
Canyon Ranch with the Nature Conservancy in 1980.
