Board Member Dr. John Lunt met with a group of post-graduate students from Yale to discuss conservation.

This engaging group of post-graduate students in wildlife management has world-wide experience from across the U.S. to South America, Africa, and Asia. They were intrigued with the concept that large well-run working ranches, managed for profit, and just by their nature, provide more biodiversity than most National Parks and nature preserves; “You just can’t see ’em from the road” (Chris LeDeux). We also discussed the successful role of land trusts in the west in helping perpetuate this agricultural heritage through the use of agricultural conservation easements and succession planning.
